Double Vision is a bold West Coast IPA that emphasizes classic American hop character. At 8% ABV, this collaboration with Hajnali presents an assertive sensory profile defined by resinous pine, sharp grapefruit, and a touch of floral spice. The aroma is intense, leading with dank forest notes and citrus zest over a clean, minimalist malt backbone. On the palate, a firm, lingering bitterness takes center stage, supported by light toasty grains and a bone-dry finish. This is a punchy, clean-fermenting ale that delivers the bright clarity and aggressive hop presence synonymous with the style, balanced by a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
Appearance. Brilliant clarity with a medium gold to light reddish-amber color. Features a medium-sized, off-white head with good persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, grapefruit, and a hint of floral spice. A low, clean, grainy malt character supports the hops, accompanied by a very clean fermentation profile and a faint hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a punch of citrus and pine hop flavors. Malt is low to medium-low, providing a clean, slightly toasty support. Bitterness is medium-high to very high, lingering into a dry, crisp finish. The aftertaste is distinctly hoppy and bitter without being harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Carbonation is medium-high, creating a lively feel. A light, smooth alcohol warmth is present, appropriate for its 8% strength.
