This modern take on a German Pils elegantly bridges traditional European lagering with vibrant New Zealand hop character. The foundation is built upon the classic breadiness of Pilsner malt, providing a crisp, doughy base that supports an expressive hop profile. Highlighting the Southern Hemisphere influence, Riwaka and Rakau hops impart layers of zesty citrus, ripe stone fruit, and a distinct tropical touch of passionfruit. Brilliantly clear and highly drinkable, it maintains the sharp, bitter finish expected of the style while introducing a refreshed aromatic complexity that lingers with a clean, mineral-etched brightness and a long-lasting freshness.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (3 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity. Forward hop profile featuring fresh grapefruit, apricot, and subtle passionfruit. Supported by a clean, grainy-sweet malt base suggesting fresh bread and light cracker. Clean fermentation profile with no yeast esters; subtle minerality enhances the crispness.
Taste. Initial bready malt sweetness is rapidly superseded by a firm hop bitterness. Flavors of lime zest and peach dominate the mid-palate, transitioning into a dry, flinty finish. The bitterness is clean and assertive, lingering alongside a light cracker-like malt note. Highly attenuated and refreshing with a crisp, mineral aftertaste.
