PINTA Kwas Ypsilon is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer designed for maximum refreshment. The sensory experience is dominated by a tropical explosion of peach, pineapple, and passion fruit, creating a bright, tart acidity. The addition of oats provides a soft, silken foundation that carries the exotic richness of toasted coconut and the smooth, rounding sweetness of vanilla. These elements temper the sharp wild fermentation, resulting in a complex yet accessible profile. Effervescent and crisp, it balances the lactic tang with a creamy undercurrent, delivering a sun-drenched, fruity finish that evokes a tropical vacation in a glass.
Appearance. Pale gold to soft apricot (4-6 SRM) with a persistent, fine-beaded white head. The beer displays a significant haze from the oat additions and fruit juices, while the head shows moderate lacing despite the low pH and oils from the coconut.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh passion fruit and tart pineapple lead the profile, supported by soft peach esters. A distinct creamy vanilla and subtle coconut sweetness provide a dessert-like counterpoint to the sharp, lactic sourness. Malt presence is minimal, offering a faint grainy, oaty note, while hop character is absent.
Taste. The initial impression is a sharp, clean lactic acidity immediately followed by a wave of tropical fruit flavors, specifically zesty passion fruit and sweet pineapple. Mid-palate, the peach provides body, while vanilla and coconut emerge to soften the tartness. The malt flavor is low but provides a cereal-like softness from the oats. Bitterness is negligible. The finish is dry, tart, and highly refreshing with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a notable creaminess and smooth texture derived from the oats and vanilla. Carbonation is high and prickly, enhancing the refreshing quality. Alcohol warmth is non-existent given the 4% ABV. There is no significant astringency.
