PINTA Hazy Discovery Wellington
A transoceanic collaboration with New Zealand’s Garage Project, this Hazy IPA captures the essence of Wellington through a lush, thiol-enriched profile. The addition of Phantasm powder, sourced from Sauvignon Blanc grape skins, provides a striking aromatic bridge between premium hops and vinous elegance. The result is an intensely tropical experience, bursting with notes of crushed gooseberry, passion fruit, and white currant. A soft, wheaty grain bill ensures a velvety mouthfeel that carries these vibrant flavors across the palate, finishing with a gentle, juice-like sweetness and a restrained, polished bitterness that invites another sip of this liquid travelogue.
Appearance. Glowing straw to light gold with an opaque, hazy shine; features a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick, decorative lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity aromatics of passion fruit, guava, and distinct white grape must from the Phantasm powder. Supportive notes of citrus zest and sweet stone fruit sit atop a clean, lightly bready malt backbone with no detectable alcohol or caramel.
Taste. Explosive tropical fruit flavors of mango and gooseberry lead into a soft, grainy malt sweetness. The hop bitterness is low to moderate and exceptionally smooth, never becoming harsh. It finishes off-dry and juicy with a lingering suggestion of Sauvignon Blanc grapes and citrus peel.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and moderate carbonation. It possesses a smooth, creamy character without being heavy or viscous, showing very low alcohol warmth and zero astringency.
