Snowcap is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures the essence of a tropical grove. The inclusion of Citra hops provides a sharp grapefruit foundation, while Nelson Sauvin adds nuanced layers of ripe mango and white grape. Motueka contributes a bright citrus lift, further accentuating the lush peach character identified in this collaboration with Popihn. The sensory experience is defined by an opaque, glowing appearance and an aroma brimming with stone fruit. Soft and pillowy on the palate, the profile emphasizes a juice-forward character with restrained bitterness, allowing the complex hop oils to lead into a clean, fruit-drenched finish.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4–6 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze that creates a luminous shine. Topped with a dense, white, meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by mango, peach, and ruby red grapefruit. A secondary lime and tropical fruit note is present. Malt is low and bready, providing a neutral backdrop for the hops, while fermentation esters are fruity and supportive without being phenolic.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical juice. High hop flavors of mango and peach transition into a zesty grapefruit mid-palate. Malt flavor is low, suggesting light grain and bread. Bitterness is low to medium-low and smooth, never harsh. The finish is soft and off-dry, with a lingering aftertaste of stone fruit and citrus.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is no perceived astringency or hop burn, and the 6.7% ABV provides only a very light, well-integrated warmth.
