This Fruit Lambic offers a masterful harmony between vibrant, ripe raspberries and the complex, funky character of aged Oude Lambiek. A pour reveals an intense pink hue, releasing an aromatic bouquet of tart red berries, earthy barnyard funk, and a hint of aged oak from its time in wooden barrels. On the palate, the delicate balance of sharp lactic acidity and natural fruit sugars creates a refreshing, smooth experience. The finish is notably dry and crisp, showcasing the authentic fermented fruit character without cloying sweetness, supported by a subtle, woody structure and lively carbonation.

Appearance. Intense pink to deep rose hue. Thick, rocky, mousse-like head with a faint pink tint and good retention. Clarity is generally good, though a slight haze from the fruit addition may be present.

Aroma. High intensity of fresh, ripe raspberries dominates the nose. Beneath the fruit, complex aromatics emerge including hay, barnyard funk, and horse blanket. Low lactic sourness is present with virtually no hop aroma and a subtle woody undertone from oak aging.

Taste. Assertive initial impression of tart, fermented raspberries followed by clean lactic acidity. Malt presence is low and wheaty. Hop bitterness is negligible, while hop flavor is absent. The finish is very dry and refreshing, with lingering notes of fruit skins and a complex, earthy funk.

Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a refreshing, puckering tartness. Carbonation is high and effervescent, contributing to a prickly, lively mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is negligible, and there is no harsh astringency.

Oud Beersel es una cervecería con mucha historia. Su creación se remonta a 1882 y se sitúa en Beersel, a 10 km de Bruselas, en la región de Pajotteland. Una de las pocas regiones en el mundo que puede certificar sus cervezas con el sello Lambic (junto con el Valle del Zenne y Bruselas). Esto se debe a que se ha reconocido que solo es en estas zonas donde se da una microflora específica. Microorganismos necesarios para que los mostos fermenten de manera espontánea con el perfil lambic.

Como su nombre nos indica, esta cerveza se trata de un blend de lambics con diferente tiempo de envejecimiento en madera con 220 g. de frambuesas por litro. El combinado es una cerveza de poca graduación (5%) más suave, afrutada y refrescante.
