This American Lager presents a refreshingly crisp profile with a botanical forest twist. Pouring a brilliant pale straw, it features a clean fermentation character accented by a delicate, resinous hint of spruce sourced from the Hotel Forsthaus. The malt presence is subtly grainy and sweet, providing a neutral foundation for the unique evergreen notes and light, floral hop background. Highly carbonated and light-bodied, the beer finishes exceptionally dry and clean. This collaboration successfully integrates a site-specific woodland ingredient into a highly drinkable, thirst-quenching frame, offering a subtle evergreen aroma that enhances the style’s inherently neutral and refreshing nature.
Appearance. Very pale straw to yellow (2-3.5 SRM). Features a white, frothy head with moderate retention and brilliant clarity.
Aroma. Low intensity with a clean fermentation profile. Features a very light grainy-sweet malt aroma alongside a distinctive but subtle resinous, piney spruce note and a faint floral hop character.
Taste. Neutral palate with a crisp, dry finish. Features low levels of grainy malt sweetness balanced by low bitterness. The spruce addition provides a mild, woody, and herbal quality that integrates smoothly with the clean fermentation profile. No harshness or heavy esters are present.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation providing a refreshing carbonic bite. Clean, smooth finish with zero alcohol warmth or astringency.
