Another Hoppy Ale is a potent Double IPA that exemplifies the collaborative prowess of Omnipollo and Troon Brewing. At 9.6% ABV, it presents an intense aromatic profile dominated by modern American hops, bursting with saturated notes of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright citrus zest. A clean, crackery malt backbone provides a lean foundation, allowing the high hop bitterness to remain firm yet devoid of harshness. The palate is defined by tropical saturation and a crisp, dry finish that emphasizes drinkability despite its strength. Subtle resinous pine and a smooth, integrated alcohol warmth round out this deceptively balanced, hop-forward powerhouse.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-10 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intensity is high, featuring prominent tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) and citrus (grapefruit) hop character. Background malt is clean and neutral with a light grainy sweetness. Fermentation is clean with a very low hint of alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a punchy hop-forward brightness. Strong flavors of stone fruit, resin, and citrus peel are supported by a soft, unobtrusive pale malt character. Bitterness is high but smooth, leading into a medium-dry finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. No harshness or solventy alcohol is present.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. A restrained and pleasant alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its strength, without any astringency.
