Norm Brewing Eclipse
Eclipse delivers a lush sensory landscape of bright, sweet mandarin and zesty citrus peel, underscored by a crisp undercurrent of fresh pine needles. This Hazy IPA leans into the Southern Hemisphere with the addition of Nelson Sauvin, which introduces its signature notes of crushed gooseberry and sophisticated Sauvignon Blanc grapes. At 7% ABV, it provides a gentle, warming presence suited for cooler weather while maintaining a soft, pillowy texture. The overall profile is vibrantly juicy and fresh, balancing the intense tropical and vinous fruit character against a subtle, bready malt backbone and a restrained, smooth bitterness that lingers cleanly on the palate.
Appearance. Straw to light amber (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze that creates a luminous glow. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma dominated by citrus and vinous notes. Pronounced mandarin, orange zest, and white grape skins are layered over subtle pine and gooseberry. Low, bready-grainy malt provides a neutral base, while fruity yeast esters complement the hop profile.
Taste. Massively fruity hop flavors feature sweet citrus, tart gooseberry, and juicy Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Initial impression is soft and juicy, supported by a low, clean bready malt flavor. Bitterness is medium-low and well-integrated, never sharp. The finish is off-dry and smooth, with a lingering citrus and pine aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no astringency or harshness.
