Nik & Ivy Brewing Company 1853

Cream Ale 5.1 º
1853 is a refreshing Cream Ale that pays homage to mid-19th-century brewing traditions with a modern sensory twist. It presents a clean, well-attenuated profile characterized by a light and crisp structure. While the base offers neutral, grainy malt and a subtle hint of sweet corn, the standout feature is a smooth vanilla aroma and taste that adds a creamy dimension without becoming cloying. This lawnmower style remains highly drinkable, finishing with just enough hop bitterness to maintain balance and structure. It captures the essence of a classic American beer but with the added character and aromatic depth provided by the unique vanilla infusion.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold color (approximately 2–4 SRM). Brilliant, sparkling clarity with an effervescent quality. Features a low to medium white head with fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Low to medium-low intensity. Sweet, corn-like malt notes are complemented by a smooth, prominent vanilla aroma. Hop character is very low and floral, with a clean fermentation profile and minimal fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is of low malty sweetness with a neutral, crackery grain character and a low corny flavor. The smooth vanilla taste is well-integrated, supported by a low hop bitterness that provides balance. The palate is clean and well-attenuated, leading to a crisp, somewhat dry finish with a faint lingering sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. High carbonation contributes to a sparkling, thirst-quenching mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated.
