This British Golden Ale, a celebratory collaboration between New Bristol and Adnams, offers a vibrant sensory experience tailored for the cask. It pours a brilliant gold, releasing a moderately high aroma of zesty citrus and delicate floral hops. The palate is defined by a clean, bready malt base with a touch of biscuity sweetness that provides a canvas for the pronounced hop character. At 5.5% ABV, it carries a slightly fuller presence than standard summer ales but maintains high drinkability. The finish is crisp and dry, marked by a lingering, refreshing bitterness that invites another sip of this celebratory pint.
Appearance. Straw to deep golden in color with brilliant clarity. Features a low, creamy white head typical of cask conditioning with moderate lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity showcasing citrus and floral hop notes. Low bready malt character serves as a clean backdrop, devoid of caramel. Very low fruity esters and no diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward and refreshing. Moderate citrus and herbal hop flavors are supported by a low, bready and slightly biscuity malt profile. Medium-high bitterness leads to a dry, clean finish. No caramel sweetness is present; the balance is firmly towards the hops.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture from the cask. Carbonation is low. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present due to the slightly higher gravity.
