Deep Space Jellyfish re-imagines a hop-forward favorite through the lens of a cold-fermented American IPA. Utilizing a clean-fermenting German lager yeast, this expression strips away yeast esters to reveal a pristine hop profile defined by sharp citrus and resinous pine. Its West Coast sensibility shines through a crystal-clear, deep gold body. The palate is defined by a pleasant bitterness that cuts through a light, grainy malt backbone, leading to a remarkably crisp and dry finish. This technical precision emphasizes the bright hop character from the original malt and hop blend, delivering a refreshing yet punchy experience that bridges traditional lagers and modern ales.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, persistent white head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring prominent notes of grapefruit zest, pine resin, and hints of tropical fruit. The malt character is low and clean, presenting as toasted crackers. Fermentation is exceptionally clean with no detectable esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of citrus peel and resinous pine, followed by a low, grainy malt sweetness. The bitterness is firm and assertive, balanced by a medium-dry finish. The aftertaste is hoppy and clean, with no lingering sweetness or yeast-derived fruitiness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, enhancing the dry finish. Features a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any astringency or harshness.
