This Black IPA presents a striking sensory contrast, merging the deep, dark aesthetics of roasted grains with the vibrant intensity of American hops. The aroma is led by the bright citrus notes of Citra and the tropical passionfruit character of Galaxy, grounded by the spicy, resinous undertones of Columbus hops. Despite its appearance, the malt profile remains supportive rather than dominant; the use of Carafa Special ensures a smooth, debittered roast character, while Crystal 150 malt adds a faint, balancing caramel sweetness. The result is a remarkably fresh and drinkable ale that maintains the assertive bitterness and hop-forward soul of a classic IPA.

Appearance. Deep black and opaque (SRM 35-40) with a persistent, moderate-sized light tan head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lime, and tropical fruit, complemented by a spicy, peppery undertone. Low malt notes of toasted bread and a hint of milk chocolate are present in the background.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of citrus peel and passionfruit. The malt provides a restrained backdrop of light cocoa and toasted grain without any burnt or ashy harshness. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, leading to a dry, crisp finish with a lingering resinous and slightly roasted aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a refreshing lift that enhances the beer's freshness. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated.

Pivní styl BLACK IPA využívá netradiční kombinace karamelových a barevných sladů s voňavými aromatickými chmely. Pro tohle pivo jsme použili slad Crystal 150 a carafu speciál, z chmelů pak kořenitý Columbus spolu s citrusovou Citrou a ovocnou Galaxy. Výsledné pivo je černé ale i přesto výrazně svěží s mírně vyšší hořkostí.

The BLACK IPA beer style uses an unconventional combination of caramel and colored malts with fragrant aromatic hops. For this beer, we used Crystal 150 malt and carafe special, then spicy Columbus hops together with citrus Citra and fruity Galaxy. The resulting beer is black but still significantly fresh with slightly higher bitterness.

Složení: Voda, ječný pšeničný slad, pražený ječmen ,chmel. Obsahuje lepek.
