This Imperial Stout offers an intense sensory journey through layers of bittersweet dark chocolate, roasted espresso, and charred oak. Without the distraction of adjuncts, the pure essence of the spirit emerges with notes of rich vanilla, toasted marshmallow, and aged leather. The depth of the grain bill provides a sturdy foundation of molasses and black licorice, while the extended aging rounds the corners of its substantial alcohol presence into a smooth, vinous complexity. It is an unapologetically bold, spirit-forward expression.
Appearance. Jet black and fully opaque. Features a thin, dark tan head with low retention, typical of high-gravity barrel-aged beers, leaving prominent oily legs on the glass.
