Fire is a non-adjunct stout we’re particularly proud of, brewed in collaboration with Crisp Malt. We were given the privilege of using two of their heritage malts in this 100% English stout. Chevallier® Heritage Malt, grown since 1820 and the dominant barley in England until the 1920s, is the backbone of many Victorian ales. It brings deep flavours, robust maltiness and a rich marmalade-like character. Then there’s Plumage Archer® Malt, the first commercially produced crossbred barley, which had a similar impact on brewing as Chevallier. For years they stood side by side, each adding their own nuance to 20th century British beers. Our brewers love the subtle flavour and clean finish of Plumage Archer. In this brew, both malts are used in equal parts. We’ve also added Bramling Cross hops, which give notes of blackberry, spice and wood, and East Kent Goldings hops, which are earthy and slightly bitter, but also have a hint of honey. This beer is quadruple mashed to extract the most flavour from these special ingredients. The result? Clean, thick and robust. Cheers!

Fire by Moersleutel is a non-adjunct stout brewed in collaboration with Crisp Malt, featuring two heritage malts in this 100% English ingredient brew. Chevallier® Heritage Malt, grown since 1820 and once the dominant barley variety in England until 1920, forms the backbone of many Victorian ales. It brings deep flavors, a robust maltiness, and a rich marmalade-like character. Plumage Archer® Malt, the first commercially produced cross-bred barley, had a similar impact on brewing as Chevallier. Both malts are used in equal parts in this brew. Bramling Cross hops add notes of blackberries, spices, and wood, while East Kent Goldings hops contribute earthy bitterness with a hint of honey. This beer is quadruple mashed for extra depth and complexity.
