Salty Kiss is a vibrant interpretation of a traditional Gose, balancing tartness with distinctive botanical additions. The sensory experience is led by the sharp, green tang of Gooseberry and the bright, citrusy acidity of Sea Buckthorn, which amplify the clean lactic sourness. A base of Pilsner and wheat malts provides a soft, doughy foundation. The integration of Sea Salt creates a savory, mouthwatering edge that lingers on the palate. Effervescent and crisp, this light-bodied ale offers a refreshing complexity where the fruit and salt dance against a dry, acidic finish, embodying a modern, fruit-forward take on a historical German classic.
Appearance. Pale yellow (3 SRM). Unfiltered and hazy with a persistent, dense white head that leaves moderate lacing. Highly effervescent.
Aroma. Moderate intensity. Sharp lactic tartness and bright, zesty lemon-like acidity. Distinctive fruit notes of green gooseberry and a unique, tangy citrus profile from sea buckthorn. Very low doughy wheat malt character. No hop aroma. A clean, briny sea salt breeze is detectable.
Taste. Immediate bright sourness and tart fruitiness. The green, slightly floral flavor of gooseberry merges with the puckering acidity of sea buckthorn. Low bready malt sweetness provides brief support before the crisp acidity takes over. No hop flavor or significant bitterness (low IBU). The finish is bone-dry and refreshing, defined by a lingering, savory saltiness that cleanses the palate.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body. High carbonation provides a prickly, effervescent sensation. No alcohol warmth. The sea salt contributes a notable tingly, mouthwatering quality and a subtle roundness despite the thinning effects of the acidity.
