Lindemans

Lindemans Kriek is a sensory hallmark of the Fruit Lambic style, celebrated for its vibrant and approachable character. It pours a deep ruby hue with a fleeting pinkish head. The aroma is dominated by intensely juicy, fresh cherries and subtle almond-like notes, backed by the soft, earthy funk of a young spontaneous fermentation. On the palate, a lush cherry sweetness takes center stage, expertly balanced by the mild, lactic tartness of the lambic base. Refreshingly carbonated and low in alcohol, it offers a clean, fruity finish that bridges the gap between traditional sour ales and dessert-like refreshments.

Appearance. Deep reddish-ruby color (approx. 15-25 SRM) with a pink-tinted, mousse-like head of moderate persistence; clarity is generally good but may show a slight haze from fruit filtrate.

Aroma. High intensity of sweet cherry juice and maraschino-like notes; underlying secondary aromatics include a mild, earthy, hay-like funk and very subtle acidic sharpness; no hop aroma or diacetyl.

Taste. Initial impression is dominated by juicy, sweet cherry flavor, which transitions into a mild lactic acidity. The lambic base provides a complex but restrained wild character (earth, barnyard). Very low bitterness; the finish is clean and fruity with a lingering, balanced sweetness rather than bone-dry tartness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body; high carbonation provides a lively, refreshing prickle on the tongue; no alcohol warmth is perceived; smooth texture with no fruit-derived astringency.

A Lambic abban különbözik a legtöbb sörtől, hogy a Zenne-völgyben őshonos vad élesztők és baktériumok erjesztésével, nem pedig a gondosan tenyésztett sörélesztő-törzsekkel történik az erjesztés. Ez az eljárás adja a sör jellegzetes ízét: száraz, boros és almaboros, gyakran savanykás utóízzel. A típus a gyümölcsös változatai ismerősen csenghetnek. Az egyik a Framboise, mely málnával együtt savanyított sör valamint a Kriek, ami meggy hozzáadásával készül, de ezek mellett igen népszerű alapanyag az alma, szőlő és a szilva is.

Lindemans, cervecería fundada en 1809, producía cerveza durante el invierno y se dedicaba a actividades agrícolas cultivando trigo y cebada en verano . A partir de 1930, el éxito de sus productos hizo que se dedicasen exclusivamente a la producción de cervezas Lambic . Ese mismo año crearon la Lindemans Kriek. La fermentación espontánea se produce con levaduras silvestres en suspensión en el ambiente. En invierno se vierte el mosto estéril en tanques poco profundos, utilizando respiraderos en el techo, se precipitan las levaduras en el líquido, se decanta en barriles de roble donde se produce la fermentación durante varios días.

We’ve already told you that our family never does anything the way other people do. Kriek Lindemans is a good example of that.

In order to obtain a beer like no other, we have been adding whole sour cherries to our lambic for generations.

Our meeting with American importer Charles Finkel in the 1970s revolutionised the fruit beer segment. Charles convinced us to export our old kriek to the United States by boat. What we had not thought of is that the movement of the waves would reactivate the fermentation process and cause the corks to pop during the trip. It was like something out of The Adventures of Tintin. To prevent that from happening, we therefore developed an alternative production method for our kriek. We use fresh, not from concentrate, unsweetened cherry filtrate which we blend with lambic that is at least one year old before fermenting & macerating for up to 3 days and pasteurising the whole batch. So the corks don’t pop.

Due to the use of filtrate and pasteurisation, this kriek is sweeter and fruitier than Old Kriek Cuvée René, which undergoes a second fermentation process in the bottle. Thanks to its innovative flavour, it was a resounding success both here in Belgium as well as around the world. Nowadays, it is undoubtedly the reference kriek for consumers.

Suite à la disponibilité limitée des vraies " cerises de Schaerbeek " et en vue de brasser une bière plus fruitée, la brasserie Lindemans a développé une méthode unique alternative et naturelle. Ils utilisent le jus frais des cerises, non concentré et non-sucré qui est mélangé avec la Lambic sélectionnée d'un âge moyen d'au moins un an et dont la plus âgée a mûri au moins pendant trois ans dans des tonneaux en bois. la bière peut-être utilisée comme base de sorbet de cerises ou tout simplement comme apéritif, mais aussi pour réaliser des plats typiques comme " les tartines aux fromages blanc " ou " le lapin à la kriek ". Cette Lindemans Kriek est une bière fruitée qui, lors de la production, va bénéficier d'un apport en fruits avant d'être placée en vieillissement dans des fûts de chêne. Cela permet aux fruits d'infuser dans le breuvage et cela entraîne une refermentation de la bière pendant cette période de maturation. Cela donne une bière rouge clair avec une énorme tête de mousse rose. Le tout est traversé par une effervescence considérable. L'arôme qu'elle laisse s'échapper est très doux et totalement dominé par les odeurs de cerises. Enn bouche, la saveur est également dominée par les cerises, mais sur un fond boisé et des notes acides. Mówiliśmy już, że nasza rodzina nigdy nie robi niczego w taki sposób, jak robią to inni ludzie. Kriek Lindemans jest tego dobrym przykładem. Aby uzyskać piwo jak żadne inne, od pokoleń dodajemy do naszego lambic całe wiśnie.

Nasze spotkanie z amerykańskim importerem Charlesem Finkelem w latach 70-tych zrewolucjonizowało segment piw owocowych. Charles przekonał nas do wywiezienia naszego starego krieka do Stanów Zjednoczonych łodzią. Nie pomyśleliśmy o tym, że ruch fal reaktywuje proces fermentacji i powoduje pękanie korków podczas podróży. To było jak z Przygód Tintina. Aby temu zapobiec, opracowaliśmy alternatywną metodę produkcji dla naszego kriek. Używamy świeżego, nie z koncentratu, niesłodzonego filtratu wiśniowego, który mieszamy z co najmniej rocznym lambicem przed fermentacją i maceracją do 3 dni oraz pasteryzacją całej partii. Więc korki nie wyskakują.

Dzięki zastosowaniu filtratu i pasteryzacji ten kriek jest słodszy i bardziej owocowy niż Old Kriek Cuvée René, który przechodzi drugi proces fermentacji w butelce. Dzięki innowacyjnemu smakowi odniósł ogromny sukces zarówno w Belgii, jak i na całym świecie. W dzisiejszych czasach jest to niewątpliwie kriek odniesienia dla konsumentów.

Podobnie jak inne piwa Lindemans, ten filtrowany kriek jest wytwarzany na bazie lambic. Różnica polega jednak na maceracji 25% filtratu świeżych wiśni przed filtracją i pasteryzacją piwa.

SMAK: Cudownie owocowy ze świeżym smakiem świeżo zebranych wiśni. Jego ostry i pełny smak ustępuje idealnej równowadze między słodyczą a kwaśnością.
