This regal Imperial Stout pours with the signature velvet texture of a Left Hand Nitro beer, characterized by a cascading, dense tan head. The aroma is an opulent fusion of roasted peanuts and bittersweet chocolate, supported by a deep foundation of roasted coffee and dark fruit esters. On the palate, decadent peanut butter blends seamlessly with layers of cocoa and toasted malt, while the high alcohol provides a luxurious, full-bodied sweetness. A gentle, smooth warmth lingers alongside a balanced roasted bitterness, creating a harmonious and sophisticated dessert-like profile that remains incredibly smooth through the finish.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Features a sumptuously creamy, thick, and fine-beaded tan Nitro head with exceptional retention and dense lacing. High viscosity is visible via prominent legs.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant notes of roasted peanut butter and rich dark chocolate. Supporting aromas of espresso, black licorice, and subtle dark fruits like raisins and prunes. Very low earthy hop character with a noticeable, clean alcohol warmth.
Taste. Initial impression of rich peanut butter and milk chocolate. Complexity grows with deep roasted malt flavors of espresso and scorched grain. Medium-high bitterness is present but softened by residual sweetness and the creamy Nitro texture. The finish is long and warming with a lingering bittersweet cocoa and nutty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low and exceptionally smooth due to the nitrogen gas. Noticeable, well-integrated alcohol warmth provides a comforting glow without harshness or solvent notes.
