This exceptional Wee Heavy presents a deep mahogany hue with ruby highlights. The aroma is dominated by burnt caramel and an evocative note of flamb ebananas, likely enhanced by the rum barrel aging. On the palate, the rich, bready-toasty malt profile characteristic of a Strong Scotch Ale melds seamlessly with delicate vanilla and subtle woody tannins from the rum barrels. At 10.8% ABV, it offers a sophisticated alcohol warmth that balances the residual sweetness. The finish is refined and luxurious, lingering with notes of dark sugar and a hint of oak-driven spice for a truly decadent experience.
Appearance. Dark brown with deep ruby highlights (22-25 SRM). Clear with a tan head that displays moderate persistence and leaves visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity of burnt caramel and toffee. Distinctive esters of flamb ebanana, plum, and raisin are present, complemented by vanilla and light oaky woodiness from the rum barrels. Smooth, clean alcohol presence.
