Future Phobic presents as a quintessential American IPA, delivering a focused sensory experience built on hop intensity. The profile is dominated by layers of bright citrus zest and resinous evergreen, underscored by a subtle tropical fruit ripeness. A lean, clean-fermenting malt base provides just enough structural support to allow the aggressive bitterness to shine without overwhelming the palate. It finishes with a sharp, refreshing dryness that invites another sip, leaving behind a lingering essence of grapefruit peel and pine. This beer balances a modern hop-forward edge with the classic, crisp drinkability expected of the style.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (8-10 SRM). Clear with excellent clarity, topped by a medium-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, pine resin, and light tropical notes. Low, clean, bready maltiness provides a neutral background. Fermentation profile is very clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impact of citrus peel and resinous pine. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, well-supported by a low, grainy malt presence. The balance is decidedly hop-driven, leading to a crisp, dry finish with a lingering, bitter, and citrusy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a crisp mouthfeel. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
