Mandarin presents a sophisticated evolution of the American IPA, merging the vibrant energy of new wave hops with the botanical refinement of Chinese Sencha tea. This West Coast-inspired ale opens with a punchy bouquet of citrus and tropical fruits, underscored by the unique grassy fragrance and elegant pungency characteristic of high-quality green tea. The palate is defined by a firm bitterness that highlights the tea’s tannic edge alongside resinous hop notes. A clean, grainy malt backbone supports the 7.3% ABV, leading to a crisp, dry finish where the herbal complexity of the Sencha lingers gracefully against a backdrop of lingering fruit.

Appearance. Deep gold to light amber with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring bright notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit, and mango. This is layered with a distinct, elegant grassy and herbal character from the Sencha tea. Low, clean, grainy malt sweetness provides a neutral foundation.

Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of tropical fruit and citrus zest. A high, clean bitterness is complemented by the tea's subtle tannins and grassy pungency.
