Rip the Script is an evocative British Brown Ale that masterfully layers traditional malt complexity with the exotic influence of Brazilian Amburana wood. Appearance. Dark mahogany with reddish-brown highlights (approx. 20 SRM). Clear with a moderate, light tan head that shows good retention and leaves delicate lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Strong notes of toasted biscuit, toffee, and hazelnut. The Amburana wood adds prominent layers of cinnamon, tonka bean, and vanilla. Low earthy hop character and subtle dark fruit esters are secondary to the spice and malt.
Taste. Initial malt sweetness provides flavors of caramel, toasted crust, and a hint of milk chocolate. The mid-palate is dominated by the distinctive Amburana spice, offering flavors of gingerbread and warm wood. Medium-low bitterness (approx. 25 IBU) ensures a malt-focused balance. The finish is medium-dry with a pleasant, lingering nutty and spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Very low alcohol warmth, consistent with its 5.4% ABV, providing a comfortable, well-integrated drinking experience.
