Selfish Games Royal Indulgence presents as a decadent Imperial Stout, pouring an opaque, deep ebony. The aroma is an intense layering of freshly ground, locally roasted coffee and sweet, toasted coconut, underpinned by rich dark chocolate and molasses from the heavy malt bill. On the palate, a velvety sweetness carries flavors of espresso, macaroon, and burnt sugar. While the bitterness provides structure, the focus remains on the luxurious interplay of roast and tropical fruit. At 10.8% ABV, a smooth alcohol warmth integrates seamlessly into the viscous body, leading to a long, decadent finish of mocha and coconut cream.

Appearance. Opaque, deep ebony to jet black (SRM 40+). Thick, creamy tan to dark brown head with excellent retention and significant oily lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Bold notes of freshly roasted coffee beans and toasted coconut dominate, layered over a rich base of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and dark-dried fruits like raisins. Low earthy hop aroma; clean fermentation with no diacetyl.

Taste. Rich and complex. Initial flavors of sweet chocolate and espresso, followed by prominent, creamy toasted coconut. The roasted malt provides a firm bitterness that balances the high residual sweetness. Hints of black cherry and plum esters emerge mid-palate. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of cold-brew coffee and shredded coconut.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a chewy, coating texture. Moderate-low carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth that adds to the indulgence without being harsh or fusel.

A Stout a porter szárazabb, sötétebb, testesebb erősebb leszármazottja. Színben nagyon hasonlóak, a stoutokban azonban sokkal több a karamellizált pörkölt maláta és a kávés ízvilág, valamint édeskésebbek is. A stout szó első ismert használata egy 1677-ben keltezett, az Egerton Manuscripts-ban talált dokumentumban, amely a sör erősségére utal. 1721-ben használták először a porter nevet egy pörkölt malátával készült sötétbarna sör leírására. A porterek hatalmas népszerűsége miatt a sörfőzők többféle erősségben készítették őket. Az erősebb, jellemzően 7 vagy 8 %-os alkoholtartalmú söröket "stout porter"-nek nevezték, így a stout és a porter története és fejlődése összefonódott.
