This 2025 vintage of MAZOUT is a monumental Imperial Stout, meticulously aged for twenty-nine months in Bourbon barrels to achieve peak complexity. The experience begins with an obsidian pour, releasing a powerful bouquet of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and charred oak. The extended maturation imparts deep layers of vanilla, caramel, and a sophisticated vinous character reminiscent of old port. On the palate, a luxurious, velvet-like texture carries intense flavors of black licorice, dried figs, and dark-roasted malts. A firm bitterness balances the residual sweetness, culminating in a long, warming finish where the immense alcohol presence is both bold and beautifully integrated.

Appearance. SRM 40+; jet black and completely opaque. A thin, dark tan head with low retention that leaves oily, viscous legs on the glass surface.

Aroma. High intensity; rich notes of bittersweet chocolate and espresso-like roast. Strong bourbon influence providing vanilla, toasted oak, and caramel. Pronounced dark fruit esters of prunes and figs with a vinous, port-like oxidation from the long aging.

Taste. Intense and complex; initial flavors of dark cocoa, molasses, and licorice. Moderate to high bitterness is countered by deep malt sweetness and bourbon-soaked oak. Mid-palate reveals dried black currants and raisins. The finish is long and bittersweet with a significant, smooth alcohol presence.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Low carbonation. A distinct, creeping alcohol warmth is present but smooth rather than sharp.
