Hoppy Road’s Frankenstein is a sophisticated blend that harmonizes a hoppy Saison with wild ales aged up to 27 months in barrels. This Brett Beer presents an intricate sensory tapestry, weaving together the rustic qualities of dry hay with the vibrant, spicy floral notes of marigold. Effervescent and bright, the palate reveals a medley of exotic fruit esters that transition into a refined, fine acidity. The lengthy maturation in wood imparts a subtle structure, culminating in a bone-dry, almost mineral finish. It is a masterful patchwork where the wild fermentation character remains elegant and multifaceted rather than overwhelming.

Appearance. Deep gold to amber (6–9 SRM); pours with a moderate to high white head that shows fair to good retention; clarity is clear to slightly hazy, often with an effervescent stream of bubbles.

Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex blend of dry hay and barnyard funk from aged Brettanomyces; distinct spicy-floral notes from marigold infusion mingle with tropical exotic fruit esters; low cracker-like malt and a hint of aged oak.

Taste. Initial impression is bone-dry and crisp; prominent exotic fruit flavors and a spicy, botanical floral character; low grainy malt sweetness is quickly overtaken by a fine, non-lactic acidity; hop bitterness is mild and clean; the finish is very dry, lingering with mineral and earthy hay notes.
