Hop Hooligans

Crimewave is an expressive Hazy IPA that captures a dense, tropical sensory profile through a complex hop blend. Sabro leads with distinct coconut and cream notes, layered over the stone fruit and berry sweetness of HBC630. Comet and Cascade provide a sharp citrus counterpoint of grapefruit and floral zest. Brewed with Extra Pale malt, flaked oats, and wheat malt, the beer offers a soft, pillowy texture that carries these vibrant flavors. The London Ale III yeast enhances the fruitiness with subtle peach esters, culminating in a lush, juice-like experience with a restrained bitterness and a smooth, off-dry finish.

Appearance. Opaque and hazy straw to light orange color (SRM 4-6). Features a persistent, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring dominant coconut, tropical cream, and stone fruit. Specifically, sweet peach and raspberry notes from the hops mingle with grapefruit zest and floral citrus. A light, bready, and grainy malt character provides a neutral background, while fruity fermentation esters support the hop profile.

Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with coconut, peach, and citrus. Malt flavor is low to medium, presenting as clean, bready, and grainy. Perceived bitterness is moderate but smooth and well-integrated into the full body. The finish is off-dry and juicy without any harshness or sharp hop bite.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a characteristic soft, silky, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, and there is no perceived astringency or harshness. Alcohol warmth is light and well-hidden.
