This decadent Imperial Stout presents a masterful integration of three years of maturation in Speyside Whisky casks with extravagant dessert ingredients. The sensory experience is anchored by a chocolate-rich malt base, amplified by toasted oats and lactose for a luxuriously thick, velvet-like texture. Prominent aromas of maple syrup and buttery pecan weave through deep notes of espresso and dark cocoa. The extended barrel aging imparts refined nuances of vanilla, oak, and a smooth spirit warmth that tames the intense sweetness. It is a harmonious, full-bodied masterpiece where the nutty character and maple sweetness linger long into a warming, indulgent finish.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, dense, dark tan head that shows moderate retention. High viscosity is evident as the beer leaves slow-moving legs or a 'sheet' on the glass when swirled.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich bouquet of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and sweet maple syrup. Distinctive nutty pecan notes are balanced by the elegant influence of Speyside Whisky casks, offering hints of vanilla, toasted oak, and a subtle malt scotch character. Background esters of raisins and dried plums add complexity.

Taste. Initial impression is intensely rich and sweet, lead by maple and creamy lactose. The mid-palate reveals deep layers of dark chocolate, toasted grain, and nutty pecan. Hop bitterness is low, allowing the roasted malt and whisky-derived tannins to provide necessary balance. The finish is long and decadent, featuring lingering notes of caramel, oak, and a gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, viscous, and 'chewy' with a luscious, creamy texture derived from flaked oats and lactose. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the silky mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is noticeable but remarkably smooth and never sharp.
