A substantial grist featuring a massive amount of flaked oats creates a lush, smoothie-like texture that carries the high alcohol content with graceful density. Appearance. Deep pinkish-orange to hazy peach in color; completely opaque with a smoothie-like density. Features a small, pink-tinted head with poor retention and light lacing, typical of high-fruit and high-alcohol sours.
Aroma. High intensity with a dominant, complex tropical profile of ripe guava and tangy passion fruit. Sharply sour citrus notes of pink grapefruit provide a bright top note, backed by a clean lactic acidity and a subtle, doughy wheat and oat malt character.
Taste. Initial impression is a powerful burst of tropical fruit and clean lactic sourness. Imperial BCN Weisse with Tripping Animals. On this collab we have gone with a higher fruiting rate than ever before. Almost 1000kg of Guava, Pink Grapefruit and Passion Fruit were loaded into the fermenter to give a hugely tropical sour. As it's citrus season here and our friends in Florida suggested that it is Guava and Passion Fruit season over there we thought why not have a blast of sunshine but at a warming 9% abv. A grist with as much flaked oats as our mash tun can manage gives this beer a really smooth, creamy body which enhances the almost smoothie like mouthfeel.
