The sensory journey begins with an intense bouquet of grapefruit, pine, and orange zest, underscored by a subtle floral lift. On the palate, a firm, clean bitterness takes center stage, supported by a lean, grainy malt backbone that allows the hop character to remain the primary focus. The Citra hops provide bright tropical and citrus notes, while Centennial adds a classic resinous depth and Bravo contributes a hint of orange spice. It finishes crisp and decidedly dry, inviting another sip of this refreshing, hop-forward ale.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (approx. 8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, off-white head that demonstrates good persistence and leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lime, and tropical mango from Citra, balanced by the floral and piney resin of Centennial. A background of orange zest and subtle spice from Bravo is present. Low, clean, grainy malt sweetness supports the hops, with a very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of citrus, pine, and light spice. Initial impression is hop-forward followed by a low, grainy maltiness with a hint of toasted bread. Medium-high bitterness is clean and assertive, leading to a crisp, dry finish. The aftertaste is long and bitter with lingering resin and citrus peel.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. There is a very light, smooth alcohol warmth consistent with its strength.
