This collaboration Double IPA delivers a saturated tropical and berry-forward sensory experience driven by Mosaic and HBC 630 Cryo hops. Expect a lush profile of sweet raspberry, cherry, and ripe stone fruit, balanced by the distinctive pink grapefruit and floral rose notes of Talus. The high hopping rate creates an intense aromatic bouquet against a soft, supportive malt backdrop. While substantial at 7.8% ABV, the beer remains highly drinkable with a smooth, velvety texture characteristic of the New England influence, finishing with a restrained bitterness that highlights the complex, multi-layered fruit character of the modern hop varieties.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (6-9 SRM) with a thick, persistent, creamy white head. Opaque with a heavy, uniform haze.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of blueberry, mango, and passion fruit. Secondary layers of sweet raspberry, cherry, and pink grapefruit are evident, supported by a light floral rose character. Malt is neutral and grainy in the background, with a clean fermentation profile and a subtle, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is dominated by an explosion of tropical and stone fruits. Hop flavors of peach, berry, and grapefruit are intense. Malt character is low and supportive, offering a clean, bready base without caramel. Bitterness is moderately high but soft and rounded, avoiding harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, pleasant fruity and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth without being hot. Smooth mouthfeel with no significant hop-derived astringency.
