The inclusion of heritage Wrens Abruzzi rye introduces a sophisticated peppery spice that weaves through layers of decadent caramel and dark fruit. Extensive maturation in bourbon barrels imparts luxurious notes of toasted oak, sweet vanilla, and a mellow spirit warmth that complements the beer's substantial 12% ABV. On the palate, the chewy, velvety body carries impressions of dried plums and figs, finishing with a graceful balance of residual sweetness and barrel-derived tannins for a deeply complex and contemplative experience.
Appearance. Deep mahogany with brilliant ruby highlights. A thin, off-white head fades quickly to a persistent collar, leaving minimal lacing. High viscosity is apparent in the form of slow-moving legs on the glass.
Aroma. Intensely aromatic with a dominant rich malt profile featuring toffee and dark bread. The Wrens Abruzzi rye provides a distinct spicy, earthy counterpoint. Pronounced notes of bourbon-soaked oak, vanilla, and coconut merge with esters of raisin and dried fig. Low earthy hop character.
