Restorative Balance is a vibrant Double IPA that captures the essence of renewal through an intensive hop profile. A heavy wheat base provides a soft, hazy foundation for a Citra whirlpool and an aggressive dry hop featuring Rakau and Galaxy. The nose is an explosion of tropical starbursts, creamy piña colada, and candied cantaloupe. On the palate, the EQjuice profile delivers saturated layers of mango and tangerine, balanced by a firm yet smooth bitterness characteristic of the style. This 8.5% ABV powerhouse maintains a restorative equilibrium, finishing with a velvety mouthfeel that masks its strength while lingering with persistent tropical fruit notes.
Appearance. Vibrant yellow to light gold (6-8 SRM). Featuring a persistent, frothy white head with excellent lacing. While the style allows for clarity, this modern interpretation presents a dense, uniform haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma dominated by New World characteristics. Prominent notes of tropical fruit, specifically mango and tangerine from the Citra, combined with the stone fruit and candied cantaloupe nuances of Rakau and Galaxy. A subtle, creamy coconut and pineapple ester profile suggests piña colada. Malt is a supportive, clean, grainy-sweet whisper in the background.
Taste. Immediate impact of saturated tropical fruit, mirroring the aroma with mango and starburst-like candy notes. The Rakau and Galaxy hops provide a complex stone fruit depth. Bitterness is firm but expertly integrated, avoiding any harshness despite the high IBU context. The malt character is soft and unobtrusive, allowing the hop flavors to lead. It finishes medium-dry and smooth with a lingering, juicy aftertaste of citrus zest.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a particularly soft, creamy texture derived from the high wheat content. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a refreshing lift. A smooth, restrained alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated at 8.5% ABV. No hop-derived astringency.
