This collaborative Double IPA presents an intense sensory experience driven by a heavy addition of oats and wheat, creating a soft, opaque foundation for an aggressive hop profile. Featuring a complex blend of Citra, Strata, Galaxy, Zappa, and Idaho7, the beer opens with saturated aromas of tropical mango, orange tang, and assorted berries. The palate delivers a dank mango and orange juice smoothie character alongside notes of papaya chunks and a nostalgic green nerds candy sweetness. A firm hoppy bite provides essential balance to the rich fruitiness, finishing with a lingering melon note characteristic of the signature Equilibrium profile.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper with a dense, persistent white head and heavy lacing. Displays a characteristic dense haze and opacity from the high percentage of oats and wheat in the grist.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of tropical mango, citrusy orange, and a distinct berry-like sweetness. Underlying dankness and a faint grape-like ester profile are supported by a clean, neutral, grainy malt background with no significant fermentation byproducts.
Taste. Initial impression is a massive wave of tropical fruit, specifically mango juice and papaya, transitioning into a saturated orange citrus flavor. The hop-derived flavors are complex, ranging from dank resin to fruit candy. Bitterness is firm but integrated, balancing a light malt sweetness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, hoppy melon aftertaste and a clean alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notably smooth, creamy texture derived from the heavy use of oats. Carbonation is moderate to high. A soft, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 8.5% ABV, lacking any harshness or astringency.
