This opulent Imperial Stout captures the essence of the South American Alfajores cookie through a decadent layering of specialty ingredients. It pours a viscous, pitch black with a frothy tan head. The sensory profile is dominated by rich fudge brownie and almond shortbread dough, underscored by the luxurious nuttiness of Ferrero Rocher-style hazelnuts and toasted coconut. Madagascar Vanilla provides a creamy aromatic bridge, while a distinct infusion of Honey rounds out the roasted chocolate malts. The result is a velvety, liquid dessert that balances intense sweetness with a warming, full-bodied presence, finishing with a lingering note of honeyed nut butter.
Appearance. SRM 40+; jet black and opaque. Features a thick, frothy tan head with moderate retention. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of dark chocolate fudge and roasted hazelnuts. Secondary notes include almond paste, sweet Madagascar Vanilla, and toasted coconut. A floral honey sweetness integrates seamlessly with the deep roast and light char of the base malts.
Taste. Initial impression is decadently sweet with chocolate syrup and honey. The mid-palate reveals complex nuttiness—specifically almond and hazelnut—reminiscent of shortbread cookies.
