Bavarian-Style Märzen Lager

Did you know that Enegren Oktoberfest Märzen is the first logo we made using the Bavarian Flag style design that you now see on about 90% of our cans? Yep, we first started packaging our Oktoberfest in 2016 and were one of the few small craft breweries in California making the style at the time.

Now of course you see a similar blue and white design from any and every brewery making the style. But why the blue and white? Actually, there is no exact answer to that question, though it is believed to represent the lakes and rivers of Bavaria, or perhaps the sky and clouds as in the Bavarian anthem, which says “die Farben Seines Himmels, Weiß und Blau” – “the colors of His sky/heaven, white and blue”. Luckily we get those same blue skies here in Moorpark! Prost!
