This modern American IPA presents a vibrant hop-forward profile, celebrating the classic West Coast style with a contemporary twist. The aroma is led by a punchy citrus bouquet from Citra, underpinned by the tropical stone fruit nuances of Nectaron. A complex dry-hop addition of Strata and Simcoe introduces a prominent dank top note alongside layers of resinous pine and passionfruit, while a touch of HBC522 adds subtle floral spice. On the palate, a firm bitterness cuts through a lean, clean malt base, finishing dry and crisp. The result is a bold, aromatic duel of heavyweight hops with high drinkability.
Appearance. Pours a medium gold to light amber with brilliant clarity. Topped by a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring bright lemon zest and grapefruit from Citra, blended with peach-like stone fruit from Nectaron. A distinct dank, resinous quality from Strata and Simcoe provides depth, while low, grainy malt sweetness remains in the background. Clean fermentation with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of tropical fruit and resin. Mid-palate reveals layers of pine and citrus pith supported by a low, neutral maltiness. High bitterness provides a clean, sharp edge that lingers into a dry, hoppy finish. Hop flavors of passionfruit and grapefruit dominate the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate to high carbonation enhances the refreshing quality. No perceptible astringency; very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its strength.
