Eagle Rock Brewery Zes

Belgian Strong Ale 8 º 31 IBU
Celebrate complexity with this Belgian Golden Strong Ale, a collaboration between Eagle Rock, Ladyface, and Strand. This 8% powerhouse pours a brilliant pale gold, topped by a persistent, rocky white head. The aroma is a sophisticated dance of pear-like esters and peppery alcohol, evolved by the addition of Brettanomyces which introduces subtle earthy and rustic notes. On the palate, expect a crisp, dry profile where herbal hop character meets a grainy-sweet Pilsner malt backbone. Effervescent carbonation elevates the floral notes and the drying finish, while the wild yeast provides a lingering, leathery complexity that deepens with age.
Appearance. Pale yellow to gold (3-5 SRM). Massive, long-lasting, rocky white head with characteristic Belgian lacing. Brilliant clarity and highly effervescent.
Aroma. High intensity bouquet featuring pear and apple esters. Moderate herbal and floral hop character. Soft, peppery alcohol notes accompany a subtle earthy, barnyard funk from the Brettanomyces. Low grainy-sweet malt presence.
Taste. Initial impression is dry and fruity with dominant pear-like esters. Moderate herbal hop flavor and spicy, peppery phenols. Bitterness is medium-high and firm, accentuated by a very dry finish. Low Pilsner malt sweetness. Long, drying aftertaste with a hint of rustic leather.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, appearing lighter due to high attenuation. Very high carbonation; prickly and effervescent. Smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth without being hot or solventy.
