This massive American Stout pushes the boundaries of the style with a decadent, dessert-inspired profile. Clocking in at 15% ABV, it presents a rich foundation of roasted malts and dark chocolate, transformed by extensive bourbon barrel aging. The primary sensory drivers are luscious vanilla and bright, zesty lemon curd, creating a bon-bon candy character. The barrel integration provides deep oak and caramel notes that complement the citrus brightness. It is an intense, sweet, and viscous liquid designed for slow sipping, evoking the creamy richness of a citrus-infused pastry balanced by a potent, well-integrated alcohol backbone and a lingering, luxurious finish.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. It pours with a thick, dark tan head that shows moderate retention, eventually subsiding into a persistent ring and light lacing. Viscous legs are visible on the glass due to the high alcohol content.

Aroma. Intense and complex. High notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee bean are layered with prominent, sweet vanilla bean and bright, tangy lemon zest. The bourbon barrel aging adds significant depth with aromas of toasted oak, caramel, and a distinct spirit-like warmth. Fruity esters are present but secondary to the citrus and vanilla adjuncts.

Taste. The initial impression is extremely sweet and rich, reminiscent of lemon-infused chocolate truffles. Deep malt flavors of bittersweet chocolate and espresso provide a sturdy base. The mid-palate is dominated by creamy vanilla and a sharp, citrusy lemon curd character that provides a counterpoint to the sugar. Bourbon character adds toasted coconut and wood spice. Bitterness is moderate but largely masked by high residual sugar. The finish is long and lingering, featuring sweet vanilla and a warming, smooth alcohol glow.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally viscous, with a syrupy, coating texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Significant alcohol warmth is present but smooth and well-integrated. High creaminess with no detectable astringency.
