This Imperial Stout serves as a sophisticated winter warmer, defined by a complex grist featuring Biscuit, Chocolate, and Munich malts. The sensory experience begins with a decadent aromatic profile of bittersweet cocoa and toasted grain, layered with dark fruit esters. On the palate, the deep, bready malt character and intense roasted notes are uniquely sharpened by the addition of Maldon smoked salt. This saline tang provides a savory counterpoint to the beer's underlying sweetness, enhancing the perception of chocolate while leading into a balanced, bittersweet finish. Velvety and substantial, it harmonizes traditional roast intensity with a distinctive mineral edge.

Appearance. SRM 40. Jet black and completely opaque. Dense, persistent deep tan head with moderate lacing and visible viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, and espresso. Significant toasted bread and biscuit malt sweetness supported by moderate esters of raisin and dried plum. A very faint, clean wood-smoke note persists in the background.

Taste. Rich initial impression of bittersweet chocolate and nutty biscuit flavors. Complex layers of roasted grain and dark-roasted coffee define the mid-palate. A distinct saline tang from the Maldon smoked salt cuts through the malt weight, balancing the sweetness. Medium-high bitterness. The finish is moderately dry with lingering roast, a savory mineral hint, and gentle warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Moderate carbonation. Smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth without harshness or astringency.
