This Imperial Stout presents a decadent and unapologetically rich sensory experience, pouring with a thick, viscous presence. The aroma is dominated by layers of intense chocolate fudge and deep cocoa, accented by hints of silky caramel and dark dried fruits. At 10.5% ABV, a smooth, integrated alcohol warmth provides a slow-sipping quality characteristic of its strength. The palate follows with a luscious, chewy texture where roasted malts offer bittersweet coffee notes and a lingering, boozy finish. Its harmonious balance between sweetness and roast makes it a complex fire-side companion that emphasizes a bold, velvety malt profile.
Appearance. Opaque, jet black in color (40 SRM) with a dense, persistent deep tan head. High viscosity is evident through thick legs visible on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, and espresso-like roast. Moderate dark fruit esters of plum and raisin emerge alongside a rich caramel sweetness and a clean, noticeable alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial rich impression of chocolate fudge and toffee, supported by a firm roasted malt bitterness (approx. 60 IBU). Mid-palate reveals layers of silky caramel and dark bread. The finish is long and warming with lingering bittersweet cocoa and a clean, roasty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present, providing a gentle glow without being harsh.
