This American Lager offers a modern, hop-forward twist on a classic crisp profile. It pours with glassy clarity, supporting a vibrant aromatic wave of tropical fruit driven by Mosaic and Citra, alongside the unique citrus-passionfruit punch of Riwaka. The experience mimics a West Coast swell of hops while maintaining the highly-attenuated, clean fermentation of a traditional lager. A light malt base provides a neutral canvas for the fruity hop flavors, ensuring a sessionable character. It balances the refreshing, thirst-quenching nature of the style with a punchy, tropical beach intensity that finishes exceptionally dry and crisp.
Appearance. Very pale straw to medium yellow color (2-3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a white, frothy head that displays moderate persistence.
Aroma. Moderate to high aroma intensity. While the malt character remains neutral and lightly grainy-sweet, the profile is dominated by a tropical and citrus-forward hop character featuring notes of mango, grapefruit, and passionfruit. Fermentation is very clean with no significant esters or phenols.
Taste. The palate is relatively neutral with a light, grainy malt sweetness that is quickly overtaken by prominent tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors. It possesses a low to medium-low bitterness that remains well-balanced. The finish is very dry and crisp, with a short, clean aftertaste that leaves a lingering hint of fruitiness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that provides a refreshing carbonic bite on the tongue. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated. Smooth, clean mouthfeel with no astringency.
