Deep Creek’s Golden Dragon is a powerful Double IPA that lives up to its noble name with a massive hoard of golden tropical hop character. At 9.5% ABV, it presents an intense sensory experience, leading with a saturated aroma of mango, passionfruit, and bright citrus. The golden-hued body is supported by a clean, lean malt profile that allows the hops to dominate from the first sip to the lingering, resinous finish. It strikes a balance between its formidable strength and high drinkability, offering a smooth yet assertive bitterness that cleanses the palate, leaving behind echoes of sun-ripened stone fruit.

Appearance. Deep gold to light copper in color. Brilliantly clear with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit notes of mango and pineapple, accompanied by citrus zest and a light resinous undertone. A neutral, grainy malt character is tucked in the background with a very clean fermentation profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.

Taste. Leading with a strong, complex hop flavor of passionfruit and grapefruit. Bitterness is moderately high and firm but remains smooth and lacks harshness. The malt character is unobtrusive and clean, providing just enough support to prevent the beer from being thin. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a long, hoppy, and bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A restrained but clear alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its high strength without being solventy or hot.
