De Heidebrouwerij BijenBlond is an inviting Blonde Ale that beautifully showcases a distinct touch of local Veluwse honey integrated with a light, grainy maltiness from local barley. It pours a brilliant deep gold with a persistent white head. The aroma delivers a delicate bouquet of floral honey, light bready malt, and a faint hint of spicy hops. On the palate, a soft malt sweetness harmonizes with a mild hop bitterness and a clean fermentation profile, leading to a crisp, semi-dry finish. This balanced, highly drinkable ale offers a refreshing yet subtly elevated sensory experience.
Appearance. Deep gold in color (approx. 5-6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a low to medium, creamy white head that exhibits fair to good retention and leaves light lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate aroma featuring sweet, floral, and slightly herbal notes from Veluwse honey, supported by a light, grainy and bready malt character. Hop aroma is low, imparting subtle herbal and spicy hints. Fermentation is clean with very low, negligible fruity esters.
Taste. Soft, sweet initial impression of light honey and grainy malt flavors. Light hop flavor with spicy and floral characteristics provides support without being aggressive. Hop bitterness is medium-low, keeping the overall balance leaning gently toward the malt and honey. The finish is medium-dry to clean, with a lingering delicate touch of honey sweetness that never cloys.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, approachable texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a refreshing crispness. Despite the slightly elevated 6.2% ABV, there is only a very subtle, well-integrated hint of alcohol warmth.
