This American Pale Ale offers a vibrant sensory journey led by the punchy interplay of Motueka and Citra hops. Initial aromas of zesty lime and crushed mojito mint from the Motueka are layered over the unmistakable grapefruit and tropical mango notes of Citra. A clean, bready malt foundation provides necessary structure without overshadowing the hop-forward profile. On the palate, a crisp, moderate bitterness balances light notes of toasted biscuit, leading to a refreshing, dry finish. The experience is bright and highly drinkable, embodying a modern, fruit-driven interpretation of the style with a clean fermentation profile and smooth texture.
Appearance. Pale golden to deep amber (6-9 SRM). Topped with a moderately large, off-white head characterized by good retention and fine lacing. Generally quite clear with a brilliant to clear presentation.
Aroma. Moderately high intensity hop aroma featuring prominent lime zest, grapefruit, and passion fruit. A low, neutral to slightly bready maltiness supports the hop-forward profile. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters and no detectable diacetyl.
Taste. The initial impression is dominated by bright citrus and tropical fruit flavors. A light bready and toasted biscuit malt character provides a supportive backbone. Hop bitterness is moderate, well-balanced by a medium-dry finish. Flavors of lime and resinous citrus linger cleanly in the aftertaste without any harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-rounded texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a crisp and refreshing mouth-cleansing effect. No significant alcohol warmth or astringency is present.
