Cloudwater’s Splash is a modern American Pale Ale that highlights the delicate, bright character of the Lorien hop from the 2023 Indie Hops harvest. This sunshine sipper delivers a soft, hazy experience typical of the brewery’s house style, merging the clean, crisp qualities of a New World lager hop with the plush mouthfeel of a pale ale. Expect an aromatic profile defined by fresh citrus and sweet melon, underpinned by a neutral, bready malt base. It is a refreshing, easy-drinking expression that balances gentle bitterness with a vibrant, fruit-forward finish, making it an ideal companion for warmer weather.

Appearance. Pale golden (approx. 6 SRM) with a characteristic soft, uniform haze. Topped by a moderately large, frothy white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.

Aroma. Moderate-high intensity featuring prominent notes of honeydew melon and bright lemon zest. A supporting background of low, crackery malt and faint floral undertones. Fermentation is clean with only a hint of neutral fruity esters.

Taste. Initial impression leads with a refreshing burst of fresh citrus and ripe melon flavor. The malt presence is low and neutral, providing a bready foundation that allows the hops to lead. Bitterness is moderate but smooth, balancing the fruit notes. The finish is clean and medium-dry with a lingering note of citrus oil and very low grainy sweetness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a noticeably soft, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp, refreshing lift. No alcohol warmth or astringency.
