Ciderboys Hard Cider First Press
This New World Cider captures the essence of a freshly harvested orchard with an aroma of sun-ripened culinary apples and light floral honey. On the palate, it delivers a vibrant explosion of sweet, crisp, and tart notes reminiscent of biting into a firm Gala or Fuji apple. The balance leans toward a refreshing fruit sweetness that is quickly tempered by a sharp, clean malic acidity. Sparkling carbonation enhances the bright fruit character, leading to a lively, thirst-quenching finish. It is an approachable, modern expression of a traditional apple cider, defined by its purity and energetic, fruit-forward profile.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold color (SRM 2-4). Brilliant clarity with a sparkling, effervescent character. Very thin white rim of bubbles that dissipates quickly with no lasting lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of fresh, sweet apple juice and skin. Clean fermentation profile with no sulfur or phenol character. Light floral notes and a hint of honeyed sweetness accompany the primary fruit aroma.
Taste. Initial impression is of sweet apple nectar, followed by a crisp, tart mid-palate driven by malic acidity. Hop bitterness is absent. The flavor is pure apple with a balanced-sweet finish that avoids being cloying due to the bright, acidic snap. Very clean aftertaste with lingering fruit notes.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a refreshing, spritzy mouthfeel due to high carbonation. No alcohol warmth is perceived at 5% ABV. Smooth texture with a light, cleansing astringency from the apple acidity.
