This Gose delivers a strikingly refreshing sensory experience, pivoting on the cooling essence of fresh cucumber and the delicate, floral spice of Kampot pepper. Built on a soft foundation of Pilsner and wheat malt, the profile opens with a bright lactic tartness reminiscent of fresh lemon. The addition of Maldon salt provides a clean, mineral salinity that rounds out the mouthfeel without becoming overtly salty. Effervescent and bone-dry, this beer finishes with a crisp vegetal snap and a lingering tickle of white pepper heat, perfectly capturing the cucumber salad inspiration in a light, sessionable format.
Appearance. Pale yellow (3 SRM) with a moderate, hazy opacity from wheat proteins. It features a tall, white, effervescent head with tight bubbles and fair retention.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominant aromas of fresh-sliced cucumber and the citrus-floral spice of Kampot pepper. Underlying notes of doughy wheat malt and a clean, sharp lactic acidity. No hop aroma.
Taste. Initial impression is tart and cooling. Medium-high lactic sourness is balanced by a bready malt backbone and the distinct, savory flavor of cucumber. The Kampot pepper adds a subtle, non-bitter spice toward the back. Maldon salt is noticeable on the lips and tongue, enhancing the refreshing quality. Finishes bone-dry with a lingering cucumber and mineral aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with very high, prickly carbonation. The salt provides a mouthwatering, slightly tingly quality that prevents the low-ABV beer from feeling thin. No astringency or alcohol warmth.
