Browar Monsters Hydra
A luminous Hazy IPA, Hydra is a collaborative effort between Browar Monsters and Dolina Piwa that highlights a potent trio of Nelson Sauvin, Bru-1, and Krush hops. At 6% ABV, the sensory experience is defined by intense tropical aromatics—specifically ripe pineapple and stone fruit—intermingled with the signature white wine and gooseberry character of Nelson Sauvin. Krush adds complex layers of mango and citrus. The malt profile remains clean and grainy, providing a soft, pillowy platform for the massive hop expression. It finishes with a smooth, juicy lingering fruitiness and a restrained, integrated bitterness.
Appearance. Color is a deep straw to light orange (4-6 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze that gives the beer a vibrant shine. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple, mango, and white wine grapes. Background notes of gooseberry and peach are supported by a neutral, lightly bready malt character. Clean fermentation with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit, including pineapple and lychee, followed by stone fruit and citrus flavors from the Krush and Bru-1 hops. Nelson Sauvin provides a sophisticated grape-like finish. Malt flavor is low and grainy. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft finish; no harshness in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a very soft, smooth, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Very light alcohol warmth is well-integrated. No astringency or acidic twang.
