Celebrate seven years of Brouwerij Frontaal with this assertive Double IPA, a complex sensory tapestry woven from a global hop selection. Nelson Sauvin provides elegant notes of white wine grapes and crushed gooseberry, while El Dorado layers in vibrant bursts of tropical pineapple and ripe pear. The inclusion of Bramling Cross introduces a unique depth of spicy blackcurrant and dark berries, distinguishing this brew from standard examples. Despite its 8.5% ABV, the beer remains lean and exceptionally drinkable, finishing with a firm, clean bitterness that highlights the intricate interplay of these three distinct hop varieties against a neutral, supporting malt backdrop.

Appearance. Ranging from deep gold to light orange-copper (7-10 SRM). Features good clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that exhibits excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit and vinous characters. Prominent notes of gooseberry and white wine are layered over pineapple and mango. Subtle blackcurrant and spicy berry notes appear in the background. Malt character is neutral and grainy, providing a clean foundation. Fermentation is clean with a very light fruity ester profile and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol note.

Taste. Initial impression is a massive burst of fruit-forward hops, showcasing mango, pear, and blackcurrant. Malt flavor is low and unobtrusive, providing a soft bready foundation for a moderately high bitterness that remains smooth rather than harsh. The balance is firmly hop-centric. It finishes dry to medium-dry with a lingering, clean aftertaste of resin and tropical fruit esters.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture and moderate-high carbonation. A gentle, warming alcohol presence is noticeable but restrained, contributing to the beer's strength without being solventy. No harsh hop-derived astringency is present.
