La Cervecería Timmermans, fundada en 1702, sigue en funcionamiento desde hace más de 300 años en el mismo lugar, Itterbeek, situado apenas a algunos kilómetros del centro de Bruselas.
En aquella época, el cervecero "Jacobus Walravens” fabricaba cubas en la cervecería, que era conocida como "Cervecería del Topo”. A la sazón, constaba de una fábrica de malta, una granja, un huerto y un café.
A comienzo del siglo XX, Paul Van Cutsem, yerno de Frans Timmermans (5ª generación), decide cambiar el nombre de la empresa cervecera por "Cervecería Timmermans”.
Bourgogne des Flandres nació en Brujas igualmente a comienzos del siglo XX. La familia de cerveceros Van Houtryve controla desde hace ya 7 generaciones su proceso único y muy antiguo de elaboración de la cerveza denominado "infusión de Lambic”. En este procedimiento, se mezcla una selección de las mejores cervezas Lambics con una cerveza de elevada fermentación.
Desde 1985, Bourgogne des Flandres se elabora en Timmermans, garante del respeto de este procedimiento único.
Timmermans, miembro de la "Finest Beer selection” de Anthony Martin desde 1993, ha sabido preservar su autenticidad y su "saber hacer” beneficiándose al mismo tiempo del saber hacer único de "Martin’s Finest Beer Selection”.
